Here’s an Irish tidbit – Did you know that the leprechaun was first inspired by the Artful Dodger of Oliver fame? It goes that the Irish were looking for a short mascot that they could use to help them celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Out of work, the kid that played the Dodger was available to dress up in green and sport a stove pipe hat similar to the one he famously wore. He worked on transforming his English to Irish with some success. He masqueraded as the leprechaun without a hint of his past until one day …

That’s actually really good advice! Nothing says “I don’t know you” more than the generic flowers/candy gift. Putting some effort and thought into it means so much more.
